What is UUID?
UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) is a 128-bit identifier that is unique across space and time. Version 4 UUIDs are randomly generated.
Format
Standard format: xxxxxxxx-xxxx-4xxx-yxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx
Where x is any hex digit and y is one of 8, 9, A, or B.

Uniqueness
The probability of generating two identical UUIDs is astronomically low - about 1 in 2^122 (5.3 × 10^36).
